Accommodation at Australian National University?
What is the accommodation at ANU like? Is it worth paying the $157 a week for a self Catering place or should I look at renting a proper house in the area? I don’t know any relatives or friends I can stay with in the area or that could offer any advice.
Looked at the on campus accommodation about 3 or 4 years ago when my daughter wanted to go there (she ended up at uni in melbourne).
The accommodation was good, self Catering facilities are good if you a) can cook a bit and b) have time to shop for food
2 minute noodles seem to be a staple and food off campus could be expensive.
We felt that, if she went, it would be better to live in the fully catered houses and that would give her more time to study.
Also my sister lives in Canberra so she had the advantage of going to her if she had need to so we had it covered pretty well.
Great uni, though, with the best resources. I still think easier to live on that off campus…hard to get good rental accommodation and could be expensive.
